Description: Proposal to develop Conceptual and Preliminary Engineering (CE, PE) of a signature pedestrian/bicycle overpass connecting the City of Wilmington to its waterfront, across a busy port railway corridor. Iconic bridge concepts featured in the proposal for services included a tied arch and two cable-stayed alternatives applied to two alternate alignments. The bridges were set in a dynamic public space of sweeping pathways connecting city and water, spaces for passive and active recreation, and innovative re-purposing of monumental fuel tanks from the site’s industrial past.
