STATION STUDIES – ALTAMONT CORRIDOR RAIL PROJECT
Location:  Santa Clara, Contra Costa, and San Joaquin Counties, California, USA.  Client:  California High Speed Rail Authority, San Joaquin Regional Rail Commission (Altamont Commuter Express).  Project Team:  AECOM, HNTB Corporation, ICF-Kaiser.  Station Planning and Design:  Rick Phillips, AICP, RA.  Station Area Planning:  Allen Folks, RLA, AICP.  Status:  Alternatives Analysis (AA) and Conceptual Engineering (CE) completed, 2012.
Description:  Conceptual design studies for new regional rail and high speed rail stations along the Altamont Corridor, linking the Bay Area with the Central Valley. Station studies were an integral feature of corridor-wide conceptual engineering and environmental analysis. Station alternatives were developed for the cities of Santa Clara, Union City, Fremont, Livermore, Tracy, Manteca, and Lathrop. A companion study developed station alternatives for Sacramento, Modesto, Merced, and other Central Valley cities.
