Description:  The Warm Springs BART West Access Bridge and Plaza is the dramatic focal point of BART’s connection to the City of Fremont’s visionary redevelopment of the lands to the north of the Tesla automotive plant. The Bridge and Plaza are the iconic result of resolving a host of complex site and operational conditions to produce exemplary urban place-making. The bridge consists of two linked spans: a dynamic box truss over the UPRR mainline (easily erected over active rail operations) connecting directly to the new BART Warm Springs Station, and a dramatic single pylon cable-stayed span passing over a new railway spur and touching down in the heart of the City’s new development vision.
