Description: Signature cable-stayed pedestrian bridge on the campus of the University of Utah. The Eccles Bridge was a key element in mobility planning for the 2002 Winter Olympics, linking athlete housing with major sports venues on the campus. After the Games, the bridge serves as a central feature in campus urban design, carrying pedestrians over a major dividing roadway and serving a light rail transit station. The bridge was a Finalist in the Footbridge 2002 Awards, an international design competition.
