The modernist design features landmark architectural elements supporting the city’s San Mateo Avenue commercial core, including a new public park and fountain, a future tied-arch pedestrian bridge spanning a busy street, and provisions for mixed-use joint-development of street-fronting station spaces. Conceptual and final design featured extensive participation by city staff, elected officials, and the public, through design workshops facilitated by Rick Phillips.
